The Tale of the Three Brothers sequence, narrated by Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) featured in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. Animation Director Ben Hibon drew inspiration from Japanese shadow puppetry and the animated works of Lotte Reiniger, with cues from illustration and photography, all updated with the sophisticated motion of CG. As CG supervisor, I oversaw all technical aspects of the production; most notably, I developed the complex layered fabric motion of Death as part of the show’s character pipeline. In addition to my supervisory role I also animated the tree that introduces Death and the disintegrating bridal gown.
